Gun "Control"
The current system for restricting access only to those who are responsible is clearly failing while placing added pressure on law-abiding consumers and merchants alike and increasing costs all around while opening the door to gun-control lobbyists. I'm not asking for free guns at the welfare office. But clearly our system is not working and is having only a deleterious effect on itself and society. The most powerful weapon I can legally own is a semi-automatic rifle or hand-gun (kapow, kapow, kapow). The most powerful weapon a gangster can easily obtain is a fully-automatic assault rifle (ta-ta-ta-ta-ta-ta) AK-47s, M16s, MP5s, ya know, MACHINE GUNS! It's not good enough to consider infringing on legitimate users an acceptable compromise. Unfortunately when the choice is less freedom and more security vs more freedom and less security, the righteous can choose only the latter. We're smart enough to find a way to minimize the criminal possession of weapons without making a deer-hunter wait 3 hours in line for a permit to commit the act of dinner. But are we willing to do the work? So far, the answer is "no".
